|Description:||Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. is accepting applications for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in our Sierra Vista, AZ office. |
|Duties:||The successful individual will analyze and provide a technical link between company databases and GIS; write software tools and customize software environments to enhance current capabilities; produce maps, edit data, and design databases to support work processes; maintain electric utility distribution system maps from available system data; determine facility locations requiring field inspections to ensure the integrity of the mapping and location numbering system; produces map books for field personnel and create specialty maps when necessary from company resources; Manipulates and translates CAD drawings in support of engineering and facilities management; provide technical GIS support. |
|Qualifications:||Qualifications for this position are: Associate of Arts in Computer Science, Technology, Geography, GIS, or Engineering related field and five years experience in programming, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cartography, Geography or Remote Sensing; or Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science, Technology, Geography, GIS, or Engineering related field and two years of technical experience in the support and maintenance of a computerized AM/FM/GIS or CAD/CADD database, which included the production of maps, plats and cartographic reports, products and services. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.|
Must possess a valid AZ driver license. All offers of employment are contingent on passing physical, drug screen, criminal and driving background checks, and employment reference checks. This position is full time, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. SSVEC offers a starting salary of $20.82 - $26.03 per hour as well as a comprehensive benefits program.
